CMAA Question: What do you love about the construction industry/CMAA?
Answer: The most enjoyable aspect of the construction industry for me is how it is constantly evolving and adapting. I’m learning something new each and every day. I’ve also found that you can learn something from almost anyone on the construction site. Whether it’s a new scheduling method from a project manager or a more efficient/safe method to cleaning up behind work from a laborer. Finally, the CMAA has played a great role in opening my eyes to the dynamic nature of the construction industry and new innovative methods to making our jobs easier and more efficient.

CMAA Question: What do you love about the construction industry/CMAA?
Answer: I currently work as a Senior Project Manager with Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. I am a registered Profession Engineer in Maryland, Delaware, and South Carolina. Since graduating from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2005 I have been working in the construction and transportation field. I have been fortunate to have had the experience of working on a wide range of major construction projects including signature bridges, tunnels, interstate roadways, wetland mitigation, beach restoration, as well as park and facilities sites. What I love the most about being in the construction industry and being a part of a group like CMAA is the opportunity to meet a variety of amazing people. The interactions, stories, and experiences with people I have met along my career has been the source so much professional and personal growth for me. I have been blessed over the years to have had the opportunity to work besides and be mentored by other construction veterans in the industry. They inspired me to develop a strong work ethic, to do my best in everything I work on, respect others no matter what their background, and most importantly, have fun along the way.
Raise Your Career Ceiling To New Heights
Become a certified construction manager (CCM)
The Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is the “gold standard” in personnel credentials for the Construction Management profession. It is the only CM certification accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under the International Organization for Standardization’s ISO-17024 standard.
BECOME A CERTIFIED ASSOCIATE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER (CACM)
The Certified Associate Construction Manager (CACM) recognizes professionals who have chosen a career in construction management and voluntarily met the prescribed criteria of the construction management certification program with regards to formal education, field experience, and demonstrated capability and understanding of CMAA’s Standards of Practice.
Become a Construction Manager-in-Training
The CMIT is a self-paced certificate program that helps aspiring CM professionals launch and develop a successful career into the CM industry. The designation demonstrates competence in the practice of CM early in an individual’s career. Those who have earned their CMIT are able to demonstrate their investment in the industry as well as in their own professional development.
Our Mission is to promote the profession of construction management and the use of qualified construction managers on projects and programs.
